If that's not the issue, take a look in your volume mixer and make sure all the Zoom windows are not at zero volume. Mic works fine. At one time I tried a headset but I can't test it now. I'm having the same problem on my all-in-one Lenovo computer. All settings, volumes, etc. The speakers work fine everywhere except a Zoom meeting! I updated Zoom, checked drivers for updates, etc. Hope someone can help! This morning it fails to detect audio. What happened overnight?! Same problem with my mom's laptop. I have the same issue on my Lenovo. I have used the same laptop for 2 years and never had an audio problem with Zoom. Now suddenly no speakers detected. I would be more than happy to assist you and I hope that my assistance will result in a successful solution to your issue. Since you described in your scenario that the others in your meeting could see you but not hear you and I am assuming that you could hear them , that to me is indicative of an issue with Output. Instead, you should change the sound settings via the Zoom meeting.
You can do this one three ways: 1. Before you join the meeting, you should see an option to test your computer audio. As a rule of thumb, I always check my audio to ensure I can hear the other meeting attendants and that they can hear me.
If none of these quick fixes resolve the issue, move to specific troubleshooting steps for your device as listed below. If you have any Bluetooth speaker or headphones connected to the computer, disconnect the Bluetooth connection and check whether the audio works again. You may have forgotten to update your PC or Mac with the latest software updates that usually contain security patches and bug fixes your device needs to work better.
In this case, install any pending updates and then try using the audio on Zoom again. Most people with audio issues on Zoom tend to miss the Join Audio option that helps them connect the sound. Note : If the Join Audio option is missing, tap the menu in the bottom-right corner, select Disconnect Audio, leave the call, and rejoin after a few seconds.
Note : You can also try joining Zoom by dialing into the meeting with your phone number and see if your audio will work. You can also update the Zoom app on your computer or mobile device to avoid any potential issues, including those related to Zoom audio.
If all else fails, uninstall and reinstall Zoom on your computer or mobile device and then try using the audio during a Zoom call. If using an external mic, examine the connecting cable, or check your Bluetooth settings using a wireless mic. For wired mics, try plugging it into a different USB port. For Bluetooth devices, make sure you have a fully charged battery. Zoom usually requests access to your mic before you join a meeting, but in case you missed it, you can select Join Audio at the bottom of the Zoom window.
If the microphone icon has a line through it in your Zoom window, select the Sound icon to unmute yourself. During a meeting, select the up arrow next to the Microphone icon and make sure the desired mic is active. If you think the meeting host has inadvertently muted you, send them a message in chat and ask to be unmuted.
Ensure you correctly set up your mic in Windows and select the audio input you prefer on Mac. The reason why rebooting resolves computer problems is that it closes any processes that might be interfering with hardware or software. If you hear an echo, your microphone may be picking up the audio from another source, such as a TV or an external speaker. To avoid hearing an echo in Zoom, everyone should mute their mic when not speaking. Meeting organizers can mute everyone else in the meeting.
